What is the Holy Family Apostolate?
All the baptized are called to proclaim the Good News. Bishop Gary Gordon of the Victoria Diocese, former Bishop of Whitehorse, had a vision for families to proclaim the Gospel in the communities they live. Families are called forth to go out to the missionary territories of the world, to the North, to the South or right where they are now.
The Holy Family Apostolate began in December 2008. Five families gathered with Madonna House Vancouver staff to begin a process of discernment, praying to know God’s will while reflecting on the Little Mandate of Madonna House as a means of spiritual formation.
In June 2010, some of these families came north from Vancouver Holy Family Apostolate to serve in some of the parishes and missions of the Diocese of Whitehorse. Currently, there are Holy Family Apostolate groups that gather in both Whitehorse, YT and Vancouver, BC.
What is Our Mission?
The Holy Family Apostolate is a means for families to enter in the HEART OF JESUS - to be nourished - to abide in his love and be sent out to bring His love to the world.
Each person enters this world as part of a family. Holy Family Apostolate is a group that gathers to listen and discern the direction of the Holy Spirit as individuals and families, Each individual and family is called by God for a specific vocation. The Holy Family Apostolate provides a space for families to discover and grow in their vocation.

Holy Family Apostolate Gatherings
The Holy Family Apostolate family groups meet regularly and have association with the Madonna House Apostolate. Families gather together for adoration, a reflection on a line from the Little Mandate, a potluck, and fellowship. This is a great time for families to listen to the Holy Spirit and grow together as a community of families. In the Yukon, there are families who have come from Vancouver Holy Family Apostolate to serve in the Diocese of Whitehorse including the mission parishes.
