DYING TO MEET YOU

At Most Rev. Héctor Vila's invitation, Ms. Amanda Achtman visited the Diocese of Whitehorse from September 9th to 15th, 2024. Amanda studied at the John Paul II Catholic University in Lublin, Poland at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. She created Dying To Meet You, a project of cultural renewal to humanize our conversation on suffering, death, meaning, and hope. She shares her message through writing, speaking, events, short films, and through cooperating with others as we seek to value every human person.
While in Whitehorse, Amanda spoke with students from two of our local Catholic schools and a homeschooling group, delivered an evening talk, Dying to Meet You: Preventing Euthanasia, Encouraging Hope at Sacred Heart Cathedral, and led a full-day workshop with fourty parishioners, Like a Cedar: A workshop on the Meaning and Value of Aging.
